How does Meridian read my lab results?
Take a photo of a paper report or import a PDF. Meridian reads it on your iPhone with Apple's on-device text recognition and, on iPhones that support it, Apple's on-device Foundation Model. Nothing is uploaded to read it.
Is my health data sent to any server?
No. Meridian has no account and we run no servers for it, so your records are never sent to us. The app connects only to the App Store and RevenueCat, to check your subscription under an anonymous ID. Neither receives your health data.
Are my records in my iPhone backup?
From Meridian 1.7, yes, unless you turn off Include in iPhone Backup in Meridian's Settings. That backup is your own iCloud or computer backup, not ours. iCloud backups are end-to-end encrypted only if you turn on Advanced Data Protection. Earlier versions kept records out of backups.
How accurate is the reading?
No automatic reader is perfect: a value can be misread or missed. That's why you review every result before it's saved, and results Meridian is unsure about are marked for you to check. Always compare with your original report.
Does Meridian give medical advice?
No. Meridian organizes your results and shows them next to the range your lab printed, or a general adult range when none is printed. It does not interpret, diagnose or recommend treatment. Talk to your doctor about your results.
What does it cost?
Meridian is free to download and your first two reports are free. Premium ($4.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US) unlocks unlimited reports, family profiles and the PDF summary for your doctor. Spreadsheet export is always free.
